Accounts Payable Specialist

Bonaventure Realty Group (Bonaventure) is a real estate private equity company headquartered in Arlington, VA which was founded in 1999.  Bonaventure specializes in multifamily asset management, development, and redevelopment, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US.  Bonaventure is fully integrated to oversee every phase of the acquisition, management, and disposition of our properties.

Bonaventure has organized twenty private real estate investments which have purchased multifamily properties valued at approximately $700 million.  Bonaventure and Bonaventure affiliates have acquired and/or manage 7,028 multi-family units and currently have an additional 613 units under construction.

Job Summary:

This position will report to the Assistant Controller.  We are seeking an individual with proven skills to serve as an Accounts Payable Specialist for an entrepreneurial multifamily real estate development and investment firm.  This is an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced professional to assume financial management responsibilities at an energetic company.  You will be working in a rapidly growing, dynamic, and collaborative environment with responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial reporting. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create and manage recurring monthly A/P among multiple corporate companies
  • Retrieve specific invoices online
  • Review and submit 500 property invoices per week
  • Enter and process 50 corporate invoices per week
  • Review and submit corporate expense reports
  • Process checks for corporate vendors and expense reimbursements
  • Update and maintain vendor database
  • Research outstanding  invoices and reconcile vendor  statements

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years of accounts payable experience in for profit industries
  • Experience with Nexus or other automated Accounts Payable system required
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of MRI a plus
  • Ablility to identify and solve problems
  • Organized and proactive.  Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet internal and external deadlines
  • Effective communication skills
